I promise I had no communication w/Claudio about this!! here it goes from the bottom up:) 3) Scandinavian newly weds would drink a honey-wine during the first month of their marriage. Probably had something to do with fertility. We're talking Attila and the Huns here! 2) I believe the corkscrew was first made to actually clean muskets. We might owe it to the British back in the 1700s. 1) And the first wine? It was a common beverage of choice in the Old Testament - apparently the trend continues :) So, I'm going way back to Mesopotamia, 4-3,000 BC? Still, I'm not sure we can pin-down "why" it became wine, or "who" was the first to try it. Too bad they didn't have the media coverage we have now, it would've been really funny to see the clip of the "first drunk", huh?!
