The Ehrlich FamilyCategory: Wine Club Tales | Permalink Published: Wednesday, April 08, 2009 Our wine story begins in April 2004 when, as new residents of Temecula, we joined Ponte's Wine Club. Married just two short years earlier on the East Coast, we were enjoying our new life in CA and all of the fun experiences that came with it. And despite our closest family being 3000 miles away, Ponte Winery always made us feel right at home. Soon, we decided to start our own family. In October 2005, our son Luke arrived and in October 2007, our daughter Lauren joined him. The pictures below represent some of their first visits to the tasting room ~ both pictures were taken on Valentine's Day, in 2006 and in 2008 respectively. As our family has grown, we've enjoyed experiencing the changes at Ponte and watching our favorite winery grow as well. In particular, we love all of the family events that Ponte offers, including the Holiday Lighting and Santa visit. Now that our children are no longer babies and have fast little feet, we tend to leave them home when we come to dine at the Smokehouse Grill or wine taste but we have enjoyed sharing Ponte with them at such events. Our families back East love Ponte, too, and we always come to taste when they are in town. Five years later, despite the growth of the Temecula Vally Wine Country, we feel as comfortable and as welcome at Ponte as we did on our first visit. We have so many favorite wines at Ponte and my husband and I look forward to enjoying a bottle together once our children have gone to sleep and it's time to just unwind and enjoy each other. But if I had to narrow it down, I'd say that last year's Dolcetto and Zinfandel stands out for myself while my husband loves your Port. And the Beverino, well that just goes without saying ~ perfect! Thank you, Ponte, for being such an amazing part of our West Coast adventure! We look forward to enjoying the winery for many years to come! Best,
