The Smokehouse Restaurant's Scallion Oil is now available at Ponte

I stood at the counter, signing for my wine shipment, and out of the corner of my eye, something caught my attention. It was a mid size bottle filled with a chartreuse hue. I looked to the right and thought, could it be? No, it couldn't. Then I thought, that color is pretty distinguishable, it has to be. So, I asked the cashier. Is that the Scallion Oil you serve at The Smokehouse Restaurant? I could hardly believe my ears. Yes, she said; we recently started bottling it for sale.

People, have you tried this sauce? You can't find anything like it anywhere. The food served at The Smokehouse Restaurant is always yummy but I must admit I always look forward to beginning my lunch by dipping my bread in that scrumptious green sauce.

I couldn't resist, I picked up three bottles of Scallion Oil to accompany the bottles of Moscato I would be giving to friends as small holiday gifts. I was so excited, I knew my friends would love it! Only one small problem. I was so excited over the sauce that I couldn't wait. It was as if they were calling my name. Yes, I was a bad girl. I opened one up for myself, I could not exercise self control. I kept imagining how wonderful it would taste with a glass of Sangiovese. I didn't even have French bread in the house, so I toasted regular sandwich bread. Don't do that, it's way better with French bread or foccacia!

So, when you stop by to pick up your wine shipment this month, make sure you also pick up a few bottles of Scallion Oil. Use it as a dressing for your salads, a marinade for your meats or simply to dip your bread. Whatever way you select to use it, I promise you will not be disappointed.

The Smokehouse Restaurant's Scallion Oil is available to purchase in the Tasting Room, at the Smokehouse Restaurant and through our Online Store for $14 ($11.20 for Wine Club Members). Enjoy...
