Ponte Family Estate Winery teams up with Bloomingdale's to bring the taste of Ponte to The O.C.Category: Archive 2008 | Permalink Published: Wednesday, October 08, 2008 During the month of October, we're packing up our Chef and some wonderful wines, and heading out to Orange County for three separate events. ![]() On October 16th, Ponte Family Estate Winery will be the featured venue at the Bloomingdale's "Pre-Wedding" wedding party with Mary Dann from "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway" and other wedding specialists to help make any wedding the place to be. Ponte will be providing tray-passed hors d'oeuvres -- prepared by our Smokehouse Restaurant's Executive Chef, Steve Stawinski -- and wine for all guests who attend this wedding mixer. On October 23rd, Ponte Family Estate Winery will be featured at the "The Shopping Benefit" at Bloomingdale's South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa and Bloomingdale's Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Guests will have an opportunity to purchase a $10 ticket of which 100% of the proceeds will be distributed among 12 children's charities. Ponte will be providing light hors d'oeuvres and wine at both locations to enhance guests' shopping experiences. "Being a part of this event is very exciting for us," says Karon Cartwright, Food and Beverage Manager at Ponte. "Our owner, Claudio Ponte, supports foundations that help local children in need. Bloomingdale's was gracious enough to invite us to participate. It is the perfect pairing for us and helps us reach out to Orange County children in need." On October 30th, Ponte Family Estate Winery's Executive Chef, Steve Stawinski, will be conducting a cooking demonstration for guests of the Bloomingdale's South Coast Plaza's Home Store. "My philosophy of wine country cuisine is the interaction of fresh ingredients prepared with simple elegance and presented in a fashion as acceptable in a casual bistro as it would be in a white tablecloth dining room," explained Chef Stawinksi, who will be preparing a Portobello Meatball paired with Ponte 2007 Pinot Grigio, and a Carrot Bread Pudding paired with Ponte 2007 Ariana. For details on the events and information on purchasing tickets, please call the Bloomingdale's Newport Fashion Island location at (949)729-6600 or the South Coast Plaza location at (714)824-4600, or visit www.bloomingdales.com and go to the Events page. Ponte Winery is located in the heart of the Temecula Valley Wine Country and is open for tastings daily from 10am to 5pm. Restaurant service is offered daily from 11am to 5pm, and for brunch on Sunday from 10am to 2pm with lunch from 2pm to 5pm. Visit our website at www.pontewinery.com. Can't make this event? Let our Media Relations Manager Linda Kissam arrange a private tour and lunch with our Chef and Winemaker at your convenience.
