Our First Few Visits to Ponte WineryCategory: Wine Club Tales | Permalink Published: Tuesday, May 12, 2009 We first visited in October of 2007 on a whim with our daughter. We've traveled to Washington State and Napa visiting wineries and thought this was close and sounded relaxing. We were right, it was an absolutely wonderful weekend. We took our first balloon flight over the valley, and can't say enough about that. Rusty is a great pilot and ambassador for your town. Beats Napa hands down for friendly people, great wine and a really relaxing visit. ![]() We visited winery after winery and had a really great escape from city life and the pace it requires. Had a perfect lunch at the Smokehouse and felt so at home we decided right then it wasn't our last visit. We decided that we had to make at least two trips a year just to get away and feel the culture of the vines. Our second trip is when we truly discovered Ponte - we enjoyed the Grape Stomp Festival more than we could imagine we would. Our third trip, we joined the wine club and had a really great time showing our son and his fiancé what they were missing. They want to go back with us now too! We'll be visiting again next week for our daughter's birthday gift; it's what she wanted, a trip to Temecula with us once again. We're bringing her best friend along to share the love. Can't wait to get back there again. See you soon,
