On Your Mark, Get Set…Go! Support Team Ponte!Category: Press Release | Permalink Published: Wednesday, May 20, 2009 TEMECULA, CA -- On Sunday, August 16th, Ponte Winery associates and Wine Club members will be participating in the 32nd America's Finest City Half Marathon and 5K to raise funds for Rancho Damacitas, a Southern California-based, nonprofit residential treatment home for children that helps and heals children who have been affected by maltreatment or neglect. ![]() Direct Sales Manager of Ponte Winery, Ragan Erickson, will be participating in the Half Marathon and is thrilled about the upcoming event and about reaching out to the treatment home. "We were looking for an opportunity to get our associates and wine club members involved in our local charity. Running in the America's Finest City Half Marathon and 5K and raising funds for Rancho Damacitas seemed like the perfect fit. Not only will participants be making a difference in a child's life, but they'll be getting fit and having fun too. We're hoping to raise $15,000 for Rancho Damacitas to help launch a brand new facility, a project that has been put on hold because of state budget cuts and the decrease of private donations. I'm confident that with the help of our members and the community, we can do it!" Ponte Winery is asking each person participating in the 5K to set a fundraising goal of $250 and those doing the half marathon to raise $500, but they welcome any and all donations people are willing to make. As an added bonus, the winery will be rewarding the top three fundraisers with excellent prizes, worth anywhere from $190 to $400. Ponte team members and many wine club members will be up early and ready to run or walk on the morning of August 16th, and the Team will welcome anyone who wants to join. Those who would like to give to Rancho Damacitas but will not take part in the event can still show their support by making an online contribution at www.Charity.Active.com/TeamPonte. For more information on how to join Team Ponte, how to donate to Rancho Damacitas and details on Ponte's top fundraisers prizes, visit www.Charity.Active.com/TeamPonte or call Ragan Erickson at 951-694-8855.
