2011 Charitable Impact Report

2011 marked another rewarding year of giving for Ponte associates, Wine Club Members and guests. Countless hours and hard-earned dollars were given to benefit needy, neglected and suffering children in the Temecula and Murrieta areas. Below is a break-down of the causes supported and the source of the charitable donations.

2011 Year in Review

After the Holidays Canned Food Drive We like to encourage the spirit of giving all year around! After the holidays we continue our canned food drive by offering Wine Club Members who bring in five or more cans of non-perishable goods discounts in the Tasting Room or Restaurant. We had a great response! All food was donated to the Temecula Food Pantry to help keep shelves full in the New Year.

Mend a Heart Often, when children are removed from an abusive home and placed in shelters or foster care they have nothing that belongs to them. By joining My Stuff Bags during their Mend a Broken Heart Campaign we were able to provide 100 children with a bag full of comforting belongs, all their own. Learn more about My Stuff Bags.

Empty Bowls In March, Temecula Valley High School rallied together community sponsors to fill their hand-made bowls with food and sell the bowls and the meals to fight hunger in the Temecula area and devastated Haiti. The Restaurant at Ponte donated 5 gallons of soup to this cause.

Evening Under the Oaks Each year the Oak Grove Center in Murrieta hosts their annual Evening Under the Oaks gala to raise funds for their programs. In 2011 we were able to donate the salad course, wine and a gift basket to this wonderful organization. The donations went toward campus improvements.

Child Abuse Awareness Month April is Child Abuse Awareness month. In order to spread awareness and encourage our valued guests to help, we collected donations through boxes in the Tasting Room and Restaurant. As usual, our guests and Wine Club Members' generosity was exhibited, as hundreds of dollars were added for this cause.

Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon For months, Ponte associates and Wine Club Members worked to collect sponsorships for running San Diego's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon. The result of these efforts was overwhelmingly successful with Team Ponte raising over $17,000 for Rancho Damacitas, a local community group home for abused and neglected children. In June team Ponte raced through San Diego to help support this long-standing Temecula charity.

Blanket Drive In September we encouraged our guests and Wine Club members to provide warmth to homeless children by donating blankets and sleeping bags to the Temecula Community Pantry. In turn, we offered discounts in the Tasting Room.

Angel Flight West Annual Golf Tournament In November we donated wine and gifts to Angel Flight West's Annual Golf Tournament at the Pelican Hill Resort. Angel Flight works with its pilot members to provide flight transportation to hospitals across the nation for sick patients unable to afford transportation.

Holiday Canned Food Drive Guests and Associates worked to fill the shelves of the local Temecula Community Pantry by offering discounts and incentives for anyone who made a donation. Our associates were given raffle tickets during the month of December for every can of food they brought in. We collected over three truckloads of canned goods and our associates enjoyed an end of year raffle for prizes at our annual Christmas party.
